About Us

At his Wyandotte photo studio, Gregory Shamus’ focus is on delivering a high school senior portrait experience like none other.

A Downriver native who’s never abandoned his roots, Shamus combined his two passions – sports and photography – 20 years ago to become one of the nation’s elite sports photographers.

He’s worked with such big-name athletes as LeBron James, Tiger Woods, Steve Yzerman, Matthew Stafford, Sidney Crosby and Derrick Jeter, to name a few, and has had opportunities to travel the world through sports photography.

It wasn’t always that way. Shamus started out snapping pictures for his high school yearbook and taught himself how to develop his own film. He later chose photography over a basketball scholarship and attended the Center for Creative Studies, where he received a bachelor of fine arts degree in photography.

He worked his way up, starting at the sidelines at high school football, basketball and hockey games, cross country and wrestling meets, taking pictures for the News-Herald Newspapers.

His talents led him to the top, first with University of Michigan football and later for clients who hired him to work such high-profile events as the NBA All-Star Game, the Stanley Cup Finals, the Super Bowl and the World Series. Google him, and you’ll see the portraits and action shots that have appeared on the pages of
Sports Illustrated, ESPN magazine, USA Today, the New York Times and dozens of other publications around the world.

As Shamus’ career took off, his family grew as well. He and his wife, Kristen, have two young daughters, Julia and Sarah, and a son, Sam who’ve made terrific portrait models.

As he’s done with world-famous athletes, he’ll take your passions and put them in a picture. As an added bonus, you’ll have a great time along the way.
See what different can be.
